Umobile cannot send text messages to Globe numbers

My husband tried to send me a message using his newly received umobile sim card yesterday but the message did not reach me. He sent a message to his bestfriend and the dude got the message. Hubby’s friend is using a smart sim card, I am using a globe number. It seems that Umobile cannot send text messages to Globe subscribers. We tried sending messages to my globe number for the second and third time but no message ever arrived in my cellphone so I guess there is a “blockade” between globe and umobile which I believe is powered by the smart mobile network. I am not sure if I am the only one who experiences this but hopefully this will be fixed soon. More»

Surfing the Net from a Umobile Powered Cellphone

My husband already received his umobile sim pack (mine will be delivered on Monday) and we have been exploring the features of this ad supported mobile network since hubby installed the sim in his K610i Sony Erricsson cellphone.

If there is one really outstanding feature that I have noticed from umobile, it is the internet browsing speed. I have been checking my websites in the cellphone and opening my email accounts and geeeee, it is FAST. i am not sure whether we are actually spending money everytime we usethe mobile internet but for such speed (better try it if you have the sim), the proposed P10.00/30 minute rate would be a good deal. I do not have worry much about the rate though because I will be eligible for a 100 peso free load for the next six months hahahha!

Anyway, I want to thank Juanel, it was in his blog that I read about umobile. Luckily I was able to grab invitations for me and my hubby.

Iphone 3G for Philippine Prepaid Users

When news of the July 11 release of Iphone 3G hit the internet yesterday, I was so excited not because of the new features but because of the new price. At a mere $199 for an 8GB Iphone 3G, it seems that owning an iphone now costs a lot cheaper. The problem is that buying the new iphone from the US online apple store requires a 2-year AT&T subscription and AT&T of course does not work in the Philippines.

The new Iphone 3G will be available for Philippine Prepaid UsersFortunately, the iphone 3G will reportedly be available in the country soon, thanks to a tie up between Globe Telecom and Apple, Iphone 3G for Philippine mobile users will be marketed later this year and it will not just be available to those who want to avail of the post paid subscription plans because Iphone 3G will also be sold to Globe prepaid users.

I wonder how much would be Globe’s price tag for the Iphone 3G particularly if they sell the device to prepaid users (I am a prepaid user). I also wonder if the gadget will be available in the country sooner through some local cellphone retailers.
