Doubtful Total Security wiped your system.
1) Bring system up in safe mode.
(F8 while system is booting)
2) Rename C:\Windows\Prefetch to c:\Windows\Prefetchx (or whatever you like)
3) Create new folder c:\Windows\Prefetch
– If you do not do this step, some viruses are actually smart enough
to start searching for the file. This fools them.
3) Start | Run | regedit
4) go to the Run key and delete any entry with 8 digits only as the name
5) go to c:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\
and remove the program folder with the same name as the 8 digit program from
step 4
6) reboot
If you do not understand where the Run key is in the registry, find someone who does
know because you shouldn’t be in there anyway!
If this doesn’t work, buy a Mac!
