Release Date of Iphone 3G in the Philippines

The much buzzed about Iphone 3G will be hitting the US apple stores on Friday, July 11. Unfortunately, Filipinos who want to buy their brand new iphone 3G will not be able to have their purchase on the official release date of the iphone 3G. This means that Pinoy iphone owner wannabes have to wait much longer before they can purchase the iphone locally. So when will the iphone 3G be released in the Philippines?

I just read from pinoy-reviews.com that Globe will release the iphone some time in August or September this year. Personally though, I think the Philippine iphone “gray market” (if there would be gray and black markets for the iphone 3G) will be releasing the units at an earlier date.

    Ako naman naghahanap ng black market na magtitinda ng mas mura na 3G iphone, kung kelan meron na saka siguro ako makakabili hehehe

    Iphone has been officially released to the market in 24 countries on July 11, Philippines not included though my kababayan always bragging that pinoys have it ahead of those countries. Get real, those are from US expat…

    Hmmmm, if there are iphones that get into the country before July 16, those might be first gen iphones… not the iphone 3g
