Say goodbye to waking up very early and bearing long lines to apply a passport. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) already tapped the internet to make online passport application in the Philippines possible and thus reduce the stress often associated with Philippine passport application.
Here is a guide on online passport application.
1. Go to passport.com.ph to fill up the individual application form and secure schedule for your appointment at the DFA. Further instructions will be provided to you. Make sure you have a working email that you can use. DFA sends your reference number and application form by email.
2. Secure all documents required for your passport. The most important documents are your birth certificate issued in security paper (SECPA) by the National Statistics Office (NSO); and a valid ID. These IDs are preferably digitized government-issued IDs like SSS, PRC and school IDs for students. Supporting documents may also be required from you. These supporting documents should have your full name, date of place and birth and citizenship and may be any one, two or three of the following:
Government Service Record
School Form 137 or Transcript of Records with dry seal
Other documents that show full name and birth details of applicant and/or citizenship
Voter’s Registration Record from COMELEC Intramuros
Baptismal Certificate with dry seal
Income Tax Return (Old)
These documents should have original and photocopied copies. For detailed information on passport requirements, please refer to the passport.com.ph site.
3. Go to the DFA Consular Office on your appointment date with your requirements and photocopies of your documents.
